Proposed deletion of Cephalonian method

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Cephalonian method, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Orphaned article, does not establish notability

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Talia679! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 6 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Anita Shreve - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

A tag has been placed on ByWater Solutions LLC, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please see the page to see the reasons. If the page has since been deleted, you can ask me the reasons by leaving a message on my user talk page.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gaijin42 (talk) 17:14, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I do not have the ability to restore pages, you would need to ask an administrator. The administrator who deleted your page was NawlinWiki, you might want to talk to them. The "button" was there from the time the page was nominated for deletion, until it was deleted.

If you ask the admin the page can be "userfied" so that you can edit it further before making it a "real" page. However, once it is a real page again, it may be subject to deletion. Make sure you read and understand WP:N and WP:CORP, as well as WP:RS. If your article does not establish notability via reliable sources, it will likely get deleted again. Please understand that "not notable" does not mean "not important". Something can be important, and yet not be notable (because it has not been "noted" by newspapers and magazines).

Your response to that might be "what about those other pages I mentioned". Either they are more notable, or they slipped through the cracks, if someone notices, they could get deleted in the future too if they do not meet the criteria. In anycase WP:OTHERSTUFF

Also please read and understand WP:COI as it seems you may have a relationship with this entitiy, which risks WP:POV issues.

Let me know if you have more questions. Gaijin42 (talk) 15:17, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for replying. The page was actually deleted almost immediately and never had the button in question because I spent nearly 30 minutes trying to figure out how to contest the deletion. I did post on the talk wall for the person who deleted it on Friday but have gotten no response so when I saw your comment on my talk page I thought I'd ask you. As for 'notability' I had added at least 15 citations to the page to prove its notability including references to outside journals and papers. I didn't have much time to work on the page - like I said it was deleted almost immediately so I didn't get to clean it all up and organize it, but the data was all there and I'd hate to start fresh. I guess I will wait to see if the administrator who did the deleting every replies to me. If you have any other way to contact him or other admins who might be able to nudge him I'd appreciate it. You can post to one of the administrator noticeboards, Wikipedia:Requests_for_undeletion seems like a good choice in this case. Articles which are not in a good "initial" state, are likely to be deleted quickly. It is best to work on articles offline, or in user-space to get them complete before creating them for real. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. ⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Koha-logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:28, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Talia679. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:27, 10 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Information Today has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional article. Cited only to primary-sourced directory information - no RS coverage. A WP:BEFORE shows no third-party RS coverage of the company that I could find - plenty of uses of the words "information today" and several other companies of the same name. I could be wrong, but it would be need to be shown with clear third-party RS coverage meeting WP:CORPDEPTH.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
